The Westmorland County Show is one of the largest one-day Shows in the Country; founded in 1799, it is certainly one of the longest running. If you are looking for a traditional show, set in beautiful countryside surroundings, then this could well be the show for you.
With its heart still firmly in agriculture, this show focuses on showcasing the farming practices and traditions that have helped to shape the countryside and economy of this region. Of course there's a main ring packed with pony club games, terrier racing, sheep dog trials, companion dog shows, animal showing, motorcycle displays and falconry displays. The Livestock show is extensive with classes in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, heavy horses, alpacas, dogs and poultry. The show will deliver one of those great family days out to remember.
Foodies and would-be chefs will love Food Hall, the largest local products display in the North West proudly supported by local producers promoting their own products, with special demonstrators and Celebrity Chefs. And those who love to shop will enjoy the 350 trade stalls, many selling beautiful crafts by local artisans.
