Dartmouth Campsites

Dartmouth is a fabulous venue for a South Devon beach holiday. Bustling with life, this stylish town with its proud history and beautiful maritime environment is a perfect venue for a camping or touring holiday. There is so much going on here, from the Dartmouth Music Festival to local artisan food production, all within easy reach of these camping sites!

Based as it is in the mouth of the Dart Estuary, with the sea just beyond the natural 'gates' of the cliffs and headlands, Dartmouth's maritime flavour is celebrated at every turn. The regatta in summer is a renowned event, drawing thousands of visitors to enjoy a carnival atmosphere with the Red Arrows famously delighting crowds, trailing their coloured smoke plumes over the moored boats and yachts in Darmouth marina. Huge frigates are moored too, reminding everyone of the huge importance of Dartmouth to our country's naval defences for the past 900 years. Darmouth camping allows you to immerse yourself in the laid-back excitement, the relaxed enthusiasm of this famous Devon town.

These Dartmouth Campsites provide great access to the ancient narrow streets of Dartmouth, lined with independent shops, art galleries and celebrated gourmet eateries. Why not sail? Take a trip on a yacht or a pleasure boat and explore the terrain up-river towards Totnes or out at sea along the beautiful South Hams coast. Take a steam train ride to Paignton and back. Visit Dartmouth castle and explore the centuries-old defences. Walk a portion of the South West Coastal Path. Or simply settle yourself on one of the great local beaches and relax. Visit one of the town's beaches, Castle Cove or Sugary Cove, for fabulous crab fishing and rock pooling - watch out, the local crabs are crafty! Or travel slightly further afield to the award winning Blackpool Sands or the vast historic shingle bank of Slapton Sands.
