You'd probably enjoy a visit to the 40 acres of rolling Essex countryside within which Dedham Vale Estate is set even if there wasn't an award winning vineyard situated there. Set on the edge of the Stour Valley, this wine estate is a little different from a number of the larger, more commercial wineries, offering a relaxed experience. This is a small, family run affair and you will feel the intimacy of this throughout the vineyard. Take a stroll through wildflower meadows, along ancient hedgerows, past lakes and through woodland as part of your visit and make it a really special centrepiece to your camping and touring holiday. Of course, there are grapes and wine too, six styles of award winning red, white, rose and sparkling white English wines being produced here along with ciders and fruit liqueurs to also sample. Come to Dedham Vale Estate to see how the highly suitable soil on the south-facing slopes, with high sunshine levels and low rainfall, is enhanced by careful planting of both vine and wind-cover to provide ideal growing conditions. The newly refurbished Tasting Barn at Dedham Vale Vineyard is open 12pm-6pm from Wednesday-Sunday, Easter until the end of October. Wine tasting at Dedham Vale can either be relaxed or more formal - whatever suits you. If you'd like to visit outside of these times, you can contact and arrange an exclusive visit.
