Or perhaps you would like to ‘Ride the Tour’ so that you can get an insight into what the tour riders themselves experience by pitting yourself against the toughest climbs among the highest peaks of the Yorkshire Dales? You could ride a section of a stage each day and stay at a different camping venue each evening – I don’t want to hear that word, ‘easy!’ . within cheering, flag-waving or sweating distance of all the Tour de France excitement . So, you can either pace-set, slip-stream or simply soak-up – it’s up to you! With many other cycling events taking place in the area this summer – the Revolution Sportif and the Yorkshire Tour Sportif to name but two – it’s time to plan your place in this massive cycling extravaganza . You can even use our cycle route planner to see where each camping ground is located in relation to national, regional and local cycle routes so that you can plan your own cycling tours in and around the Stage 1 and Stage 2 routes.really pressing question is this: do you still have time to grow your Wiggo sideburns before you get to the county’s borders ?
