This stretch of North Cornwall, centred around wonderful Padstow, is a fantastic family holiday destination: sandy beaches, great pubs, fantastic coastal path walks and seaside towns packed with culture and tradition. Plus, there are oodles of beaches with no dog restrictions at all so that your family holiday really can be a full family holiday , with the four-legged members of the crew enjoying the fun just as much as everyone else. The Padstow area offers a huge variety of activities and interests: ever visited a Lobster Hatchery before? Well you can in Padstow to watch the life cycle of a lobster as it evolves. Or you can go crabbing in Padstow harbour whilst chomping down on a portion of what can only be described as The Don of fish and chips, before succumbing to a locally made ice-cream in a rainbow of fantastic flavours. Oh go on - you're on holiday! Take boat trips along the coast, cycle the Camel Trail along the River Camel, fish, visit the Eden centre or one of the other local gardens thriving in the temperate climate of Cornwall. You'll never fit it all into a week - it's just not possible.Dog Friendly Beaches Cornwall If you are considering the dog friendly holidays Padstow has to offer then these campsites near Padstow, all near the great beaches listed below, might just be the ticket for you! This stretch of coastline really is beautiful and holds a place in the heart and memory of many veterans of UK camping .Boobys Beach : Fabulous sandy beach with toilets; plenty of rockpools to explore at low tide. Surfing is popular on this beach as is walking, as the coastal path can be walked North to Dinas Head and Trevose Head with some incredible views. Gorse, heather, blue skies and terrific turquoise waters.Porthcothan Beach : Deep, yellow sandy beach with toilets, shops and pedalo hire (one of our dogs would never entertain that, but yours may do!) This beach is popular with surfers. You can also walk the Fabled South West coastal path through the dunes and along the rugged cliffs from this beach. There is plenty of parking. This beach was recommended by the Marine Conservatoin Society.Constantine Bay : A long sandy beach only a few miles from Padstow. It's a popular destination for surfers and walkers as the rugged South West Coast Path runs through Constantine beach on its' journey to Trevose Head and beyond. This is a series of fine sandy beaches - all ideal for a great family trip to the beach. At low tide, rock pools reveal themselves. There is a small public car park and public toilets: the approach route can get congested in summer. You could try parking at Treyarnon Bay, just a pleasant 10 minutes walk away, during busy times.Harlyn Bay Beach This is a wonderful half-mile stretch of north east-facing, crescent-shaped, sand and pebble beach backed by sand dunes. Conditions are often great for surfing and body boarding; this is a great family and surfing beach. Lifeguards patrol the beach from May to September, so swimming is an option. You will find a large car park right next to the beach, with shops, toilets and a pub a short walk from the sand. An all round great family beach for traditional days of sun, sand, ice-cream and waves.Mother Iveys Bay (or Polventon Beach) A sheltered north east-facing sandy beach in beautiful Mother Ivey's Bay. Go to Harlyn Bay for the nearest car park and toilet facilities (around 1½ miles away): you can, at low tide, link the two beaches via the South West Coast Path.
