Salcombe Camping

Salcombe is a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to beach holidays in Devon. It doesn't have the high-pulse beachside amusements of the English Riviera further up the coast. Visitors come to the Salcombe area for more laid-back, relaxing beach-side fun. If sandcastle building, beachcombing, dune walking, swimming and rockpooling are your bag, then Salcombe is a great venue and these Salcombe camping sites will place you closeby the beautiful coves and breath-taking seascapes along this stretch of coast.

The choice of local beaches is great - you could probably visit a different beach every day of a week's holiday and still have some left over. North Sands, located to the south of Salcombe towards Bolt Head, is a small beach with soft golden sand, a small shop and cafe: perfect for a lazy day in the sun. South Sands is another favourite with soft sand, a local pub and watersports equipment for hire if you fancy kayaking or windsurfing. It is from South Beach that you can catch a ferry across the estuary, gaining access to the beaches on the other side of the bay like Millbay and East Portlemouth with its fabulous views over Dartmoor. Further afield is Hope Cove, a stunning beach against a backdrop of wild cliffs and summer flowers and well worth the journey.

Salcombe itself is a pretty seaside town with excellent dining and welcoming cosy pubs. Salcombe camping is a laid-back, relaxing affair centred around this stylish little town with its quirky shops and pretty gardens.
