The camping Penzance offers should not be overlooked as great bases for a beach holiday in Cornwall. If you are more the beach-comber type, enjoying wandering, exploring, rock-pooling and discovering as much as lying and soacking up the rays, then this important Cornish town, with its vibrant history, is definitely worth a look. With the town's Edwardian and Victorian seafront facade, it looks a picture and there's plenty of traditional sea-side fun to be had in the amusement arcade. Camping in Penzance Penzance Camping offers access to a number of very local beaches as well as those further afield along the coast. The beaches in the town itself are shingle and pebble with patches of sand and accessible at mid to low tide; but once the sea draws back the most incredible expanse of rockpoools are revealed, enough to satisfy those for whom rockpooling has lost a bit of its novelty over the years! And, if you like to get wet, don your fins, mask and snorkel and have a look at the life living amongst this network of rock at high tide - you'll be surprised! A five minute walk from the town and you'll find Penzance's Eastern Green Beach, a sandy beach with such a shallow shelf that it's great for playing and wading. Longrock beach is the longest stretch of local sand with particularly safe bathing as, again, you can wade a long way before even getting our of your depth!camping sites Penzance has to offer its visitors and use the cycle route maps and venue searches on each site's listing to plan your stay.
