Campsites near dog friendly beaches in Ceredigion, Wales

Well, we've all heard of Pembrokeshire and can conjure up yellow sandy coves, rugged heather-clad cliffs and coastal paths. Ceredigion? eh? Where's that, then?

Ceredigion may seem like a well kept secret among holiday makers but it's a great favourite among campers and tourers for UK camping. It borders Pembrokeshire and shares many of the charms of it's better known, better marketed cousin. You may have heard of popular seaside villages in Ceredigion: Aberaeron, New Quay, Llangrannog, Aberporth - arguably more 'real', living communities than those of Pembrokeshire, much of which has been bought up and converted to holiday homes making it more difficult for local people to really influence their communities.

Well, we have identified these Ceredigion campsites lining the county's fair coast as a great location for dog friendly holidays, with a number of great beaches, many of which are connected by the Wales coastal path being dog friendly year round with no restrictions.

Here you will find campsites in Ceredigion closeby the cluster of beaches along this coast that will provide you and your dog(s) with the fantastic freedom and fun that sand, waves and rocks offer an active pooch. Details of the beaches with year round access to dogs are as follows:

Aberaeron - North Beach: Shingle beach with shops, resturant, bar and toilets nearby. Fishing, surfing and local boat trips are on offer and the town and harbour are well worth exploring.

Cilborth Beach: Sandy beach (some rocks) with deckchair hire, a cafe, firstaid, some shops and a slipway. Surfing and Kayaking are popular on this beach and the coastal path runs closeby. A walk out to the headland will provide some spectacular views. Parking is available. This beach has been awarded the Green Coast Award.

Cwmtydu Beach: Shingle beach with toilets; boating is popular here. The coast path overlooks Cardigan Bay and occasionaly basking seals and porpoise can be seen in the off-shore waters. There is some available parking.

Gilfach yr Halen Beach: Shingle beach with the coast path nearby.

Gwbert-on-Sea at Craig y Gwent Beach: Sandy beach (some rocks) with a Pub nearby. There is a coast path with waterfalls. You will find a farm park within walking distance to the north.

Little Quay (Cei Bach) Beach: Sand and shingle beach, with toilets. This is a popular swimming beach with the coastal path running by. Parking is available.

Llanina Beach: Sandy beach with toilets; the coastal path runs past and parking is available.
