These Aviemore campsites will place you at the heart of fun, excitement and the beauty of the Cairngorms National Park, not to mention within easy reach of a number of beautiful Scottish Lochs. Aviemore is active with so many outdoor activities to choose from you'll be spoilt for choice. People come here to explore the mountains, valleys and rivers, to play the golf courses or to pony-trek, mountain-bike and mountaineer. This area is Scotland's playground and when you consider the area's vital statistics, there's no wonder it's such a popular region for camping UK . Whether you choose to lay your head in a tent, your motorhome or caravan or to rent one of the many lodges in Aviemore, you'll need your bed each evening! By far the most celebrated loch near Aviemore is Loch an Eilein. Small and irregular in shape, this loch lies just 5km to the South of Aviemore. Hidden in the wild-life abundant forest of Rothiemurchus, Loch en Eilein (meaning loch of the island) with its 13th century island castle, was voted Britains's Best Picnic Spot in 2010 and it's easy to understand why. Sheltered by ancient pine trees, walkers here can enjoy some of the best level hiking in Scotland, suitable for motorised wheelchairs, with breath-taking views of the mountains and the loch itself. These Aviemore campsites provide great access to Loch an Eilein's picturesque shores. Loch Morlich is a very different place to visit, with a kilometer long beach of natural sand to enjoy. This loch has an award-winning clean beach and bathing quality waters, the only inland loch in Scotland to hold this award. Those who love watersports should head to Loch Morlich, as sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking are all popular here. Loch Alvie, lying a walkable distance to the South West of Aviemore, is a celebrated fishing loch, providing fishing for Salmon, Arctic Char, brown Trout and Pike from either the bank or a boat.Aviemore Camping Search through the camping Aviemore has to offer and plan your trip, using our 'things to do' tab on each site's listing to find eateries and other facilities and venues local to each site.
