Dozens of significant wrecks lie in the vicinity of the Manacles, which are scattered into three groups, providing rich and varied diving for a range of abilities. Porthkerris Beach itself is a dive site offering one of the best shore dives in Britain accessing depths of between 18 and 20 metres and packed with life. Porthkerris is also a launching point for dive excursions, either privately organised or organised through the Local Dive school: Porthkerris Divers. At Porthkerris you are spoilt for choice – there is literally a lifetime of diving here: there are 24 well-loved wreck dives on the Manacles, regularly visited by boat excursions. Lobster, conger eels, blankets of invertebrate life, kelp forests: there is a profusion of marine life making diving in this area a spectacular privilege.
And, because all of this is set in South Cornwall, in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK anyway, camping and caravanning in this area is also a joy.
