Here you will find campsites and touring grounds nearby a magical location for wild swimming: Lower Ddwli Falls in Waterfall Woods set in what is known as Waterfall Country in the south-west hills of the Brecon Beacons – a fantastic area for camping and touring anyway without the draw of the exquisite woodland and waterfall swims it has to offer. Set near Ystradfellte, here you'll discover some of the most magical waterfall plunge pools in the UK. With more than 20 pools along this stretch of the Rivers Mellte, Hepste and Nedd Fechan, you could return day after day and not swim them all. Tie them in with some great local walks and some pub grub or a sun-splashed picnic to refuel and you’ll be in heaven. perfect : there are many great spots for beginner wild swimming along the pools’ shallow edges. Lower Ddwli Falls is a favourite: a massive open pool with a spectacular arcing waterfall; on sunny days rainbows overlap in the shimmering air between the leaves and branches of trees. Just downstream you will find a fantastic pool and rope swing at Horseshoe Falls. To reach them walk up the forest path from Pontneddfechan's Angel Inn or park at Pont Melinfach car park, off the Ystradfellte road, and walk downstream.
