My trip to the Isle of Mull

In May we took our twin axle caravan on a months trip to Scotland as I had never been there before. Unfortunately the weather was not too good - we even had snow in Inverness!!! The day we arrived in Oban the wind was very strong and the sea was quite rough. We had already decided that we would like to visit Mull so that we could tell our Grandchildren that we had visited Ballamory! Looking at the weather I almost decided to forget it, but decided to wait until the next day. The next day was gorgeous!!!! Sun shining, sea like a lake, could not be better! The trip over on the ferry

It really does look the same as it does on the telly!!! When showing my Grandson Jack the photo's he was able to tell me the names of the people who lived in all the houses! Tobermory (Ballamory) is a very special place - they create the best single malt we tasted anywhere in Scotland,

the people are very friendly and the atmosphere is brilliant. It was one of our most memorable days that we enjoyed in Scotland and I would recommend anyone to visit.

Probably my favourite place of all time.. You do need more than a day visit I have spent many weeks there and always find something new. Try the route using the Lochaline to Fishnish ferry you may drive more miles but the service is cheaper and more flexible than the Oban Route. There is a 3rd ferry route from Tobermory as well!

Mull is a beautiful island, we stayed there in our Motorhome for a week last year, at the Shieling a Holidays site at Craignure, next to the ferry terminal from Oban. Roads aren't too good if you have a large Motorhome, but busses from Craignure can take you around the island. We'll worth a stay.

what sites did you stay at, and how would you rate them, as we are thinking off going Scotland next year.Dave.
