Campsites near Firle Beacon, South Downs

At 217 metres, Firle Beacon is classed as a Marilyn and provides great walking and commands spectacular views from the summit. Popular with those who participate in wind-sports, the view is often enhanced with the goings on of folk dangling from all manner of canopies, no doubt enjoying a view of you enjoying the superb views of the Sussex countryside. Ah, a good view really does make a memorable UK camping trip!

If you want to make a long day's walk of it, opt for the 13 mile walk taking in Mount Caburn and Firle Beacon, starting and finishing at Lewes railway station. Alternatively you could start at Alfriston, taking in the ancient Sussex villages of Alfriston and Firle on route.
