If you are thinking of travelling to the Lake District for a caravan and camping holiday (many do, let's be honest!) then you could use a visit to the Cumberland Show as a great starting point for your holiday: immerse yourself in everything that the region is most proud of in terms of farming and agriculture, food and craft to really get a feel for the traditions of the place before heading to the hills.(don't worry - they've lowered the fences slightly!) , listen to the Langholm Pipe Band, established over a century ago, perform their characteristic music; bare witness to the brute force and skill of Cumberland and West Moorland wrestlers battling it out and visit the model farm to see cows milked and sheep sheared.
