A fantastic place to camp or caravan anyway, with the quintessential rolling hills of the South Hams cradling this moor-fed river , Staverton wild swimming isfood for the soul . Like all swims on the River Dart, the water is beautifully clean, soft and dappled with the most incredible golden light . Of course, this is a major river and you need to be aware of currents, but there are plenty of spots with shallow and deeper pools that provide safe swimming and lovely family-friendly sandy banks for rleaxing and playing.
