So many options for diving in the UK– so little time.
So we have helped out a little by placing diving in Anglesey, North Wales on our diving camping UK hotspots list. On your diving holiday, you might choose to dive the wreck of the SS Missouri, a four- masted steam ship that ran aground in 1880 lying in 13 metres of sheltered water making it an ideal first wreck dive: this is just one of hundreds of local wreck dives. Or you might dive Rhoscolyn, where a reef either side of a series of beacons drops away quickly to about 18m, providing some of the best drift diving in the UK: Anglesey is famous for its hundreds of drift and pinnacle dives. Speak to our friends at Anglesey Divers (www.diveanglesey.co.uk; tel: 01407 764545) for information on the diving courses, qualifications, boat excursions and other diving services they offer.
Local dive centres like Quest Diving offer boat excursions out to the Llyn Peninsula, Bardsey Island and to the coast of the Isle of Man, offering the opportunity to dive alongside basking sharks in the summer months – you can’t get much more exciting than that! Whichever site you choose, you will experience a vast array of marine life and a very warm local welcome.
Whether you are coming with your family or with a fanatical (yes, let’s just use the word!) dive group, this ruggedly beautiful area of Wales is second to none: 220 square miles of its landscapes have been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Mossy headlands, grassy dunes, bays estuaries, lakes, marshes and woodland: here you will find campsites and touring grounds steeped in the exhilaratingly clean air and surrounded by nature. A perfect location for an exhilarating diving holiday.
Campsites in Anglesey are long established and whether you prefer an all-serviced campsite close to pub and grub or a wilder camping experience on a smaller site, these pages will have campsites near scuba diving which suit your needs. Use our extensive venue search to locate attractions and facilities in the vicinity of each individual site so that you can plan ahead. After a morning or afternoon exploring life in Anglesey beneath the waves, there’s plenty to do topside too!
There were no campsites that match this pitch type so we are disregarding this and showing them all.
