Symonds Yat camping

Running the border of England and Wales and winding through the Wye Valley area of outstanding natural beauty, River Wye camping offers wild swimmers a plethora of great sites for dips or for longer swims.

Having cut deep gorges through the carboniferous limestone, the river is lined with impressive cliff faces, making this a scenic swimming experience. You can walk and swim, swim and walk along many stretches of the Lower Wye, creating your own day-long swim safaris before heading back to your tent, caravan or motorhome to enjoy the peace and relaxation of this beautiful region: Wye Valley camping can be as luxuriously laid back as you want to make it!

A much celebrated spot is at Symonds Yat where swimmers can enjoy the delights of the small sandy bay overlooked by Ye Olde Ferrie Inn and swim from one bank of the river to the other, although it's not as easy as it looks according to the locals! The camping Symonds Yat offers is already famous for providing bucolic days steeped in this stunning environment. A walk up to Symonds Yat rock offers an impressive viewpoint over the surrounding river valley and a vantage point for spotting the abundant local wildlife.
